Te Aka PuawaiTe Aka Puawai is an enthusiastic group of parents and teachers who have a passion for Māori Education. Te Ringakaha Tia-Ward is the facilitator currently consisting of two sections, Te Aka Puawai Mātua and Te Aka Puawai Kaiako. Teachers meet once a fortnight to discuss ongoing aspects of school life concerning Te Ao Māori in the school.
Te Aka Puawai Hui Mātua meets once a term and is a forum for Māori community aspirations, concerns and questions to be heard. The hui also provides a forum for Te Whānau o Waimirirangi teachers to consult with the Whanau about the learning in the roopu. Te Aka Puawai also puts suggestions and recommendations to the BoT for consideration to create great learning opportunities and outcomes for our Maori and wider student group. |
